Do you prefer to take your pet with you on your holidays? Many home owners do, and will just have a house sitter to maintain and care for their property. Here we list some pet friendly caravan parks and camping grounds within 50 kilometres of Adelaide CBD. All the best with your travels!
Adelaide Showground Caravan Park is a new and modern pet friendly caravan park only a short 5 min drive from the Adelaide CBD. Booking is all online (you will receive an access code at the time), so there is no check-in or check-out point. All caravan sites feature power and plumbing, with a variety of paved, grassed, and compacted soil sites available. Dogs and cats are permitted. All other pets require prior approval.
Levi Adelaide Holiday Park allows small dogs and pets to stay subject to terms and conditions. Pet Friendly stays are available if you’re in your own caravan or tent or stay in the pet-friendly cabins. There are camping site, powered sites, and ensuite powered sites available. Pets are allowed in the Budget Ensuite Cabins.
Approval is at the Manager’s discretion and must be sought at the time of booking.
Dogs are welcome at Windsor Gardens Caravan Park on the powered camp sites. The caravan park is located on the banks of the River Torrens and right next door to Linear Park, where you can enjoy a pleasant stroll with your pooch.
Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park is a pet friendly caravan park located right on the beach.
There are a range of spacious caravan sites (beachfront powered sites, premium sites, grass and slab sites) suitable for caravans, motorhomes and 5th wheelers. There are also self contained cabin accommodation options available, ranging from budget to luxury.
The fully equipped camp kitchen has hotplates, fridges and microwaves.

Highway 1 Caravan & Tourist Park is pet friendly for tourists only. Pets are not welcome inside cabins or units, so they must sleep outside on the veranda or in their owners’ vehicles. The park is set on over 20 acres of beautiful lush tropical gardens and parks. Adelaide CBD is only a 20 min drive away.
Christies Beach Tourist Park is a small, pet friendly boutique tourist park located next to the beach with views of Gulf St Vincent. There are selected powered sites which are dog friendly during quiet periods. Dogs are accepted on application and the management team will meet your dog on arrival, before entry into the park is granted. The beach in front of the park is dog-friendly. As dogs are not allowed in the park during busy periods, it’s best to check available dates directly with the park

Located in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia, McLaren Vale Lakeside Caravan Park is situated only 40 kilometers south of Adelaide and is surrounded by first-class wineries and vineyards. Pets are permitted on the camping sites as well as the 2 pet friendly cabins. Pets staying on sites are free while there is a $20 pet fee for pets staying in cabins. There is an off leash dog area where pets may be exercised.
Close to Gawler, Gawler Gateway Tourist Park is the geatway to the beautiful regions of Adelaide, the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills and the Clare Valley! Unpowered and powered campsites are dog friendly, however acceptance of dogs is at Management’s discretion. There are many areas for you to walk your dog including beside the creek on the northern side of the park, behind your powered site and also in the nature reserve found at the rear of the Park.
Aldinga Beach Holiday Park is a pet friendly holiday park set on 10 acres. Pets are allowed on camp sites (unpowered, powered and powered ensuite sites) during Off Peak season only. Pet are also not allowed during school holidays or long weekends.
